BSBIOS and Banrisul firm agreement for canola improvement

On Monday afternoon (05), in the stand of BSBIOS, at Expodireto, the industry of biodiesel and Banco do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul renewed the agreement directed to financing to canola producers in the country. The objective is to provide to farmers conditions for planting.

According to the CEO of BSBIOS, Erasmo Carlos Battistella, these are important initiatives that help farmers to grow canola. "The support Banrisul provides to the crop is fundamental so that producers may plant with tranquility, by having the necessary support for financing of their production". BSBIOS guarantees the purchase of the production improved. The vice-president of Banrisul, Flávio Lammel, emphasized how important winter crops are. "We have just experienced a period of drought, last summer, I believe in canola, as a profitable winter crop and with real guarantees of commercialization to improve this situation. Banrisul is partnership of BSBIOS for canola improvement" said Lammel. In 2011, BSBIOS improved 25 thousand ha of canola in the southern states of the country. "The objective is to increase approximately 30% in 2012," said the coordinator of the Improvement sector of BSBIOS, Fábio Junior Benin.

BSBIOS is also partner of family agriculture. It is sponsoring the Agro-industry and Craft Pavilion and the Rural Family Space. During the official opening of the pavilion Battistella emphasized that the work accomplished by small producers is important. "We support these initiatives, family agriculture is essential for growing in the rural mean. We acquire at least 30% of all raw material produced by them," said the businessman.

Erasmo still highlighted that this year the stand of BSBIOS is directed to broadcast knowledge on the benefits of biodiesel to families. "A material, which shows economic, social and environmental return biofuel provides, was specially prepared. Yet, there is a game available for children play at the venue and with a copy for them to take it home," said Battistella.

Canola Commercialization Policy

During Expodireto 2012, farmers who negotiate canola areas with BSBIOS, will have guarantee of acquisition of 14 sacks for R$ 47,00 (fourty seven reals) and the exceeding price of the counter.
