BSBIOS receives prize Mérito Empresarial Gaúcho

BSBIOS received Prize Mérito Empresarial do Rio Grande do Sul 2009, promoted by Revista Destaque Gaúcho with support of Câmara Brazil-China-Mercosul. It was given this prize during a dinner party on 08/3, at Fenac, in Novo Hamburgo. BSBIOS is then the only company to receive the prize this year in the region of Rio Grande do Sul. The awarded are chosen by a judging panel consisted of people were honored in the previous year. In 2008, Stara, Cotrijal and Coprel were among the people were honored. In total, companies from 33 segments of economic activity in Rio Grande do Sul are chosen each year. That was the 14th prize edition. Authorities and company leaderships from all state honored the activities attended the award ceremony, a way of honoring organizations that contribute for the social and economic development in Rio Grande do Sul.

According to Davenir Breier, author of the Mérito Empresarial prize and speaker of the Destaque Gaúcho program, which has been broadcasted for eleven years by TV Bandeirantes, the voting of winner companies last year indicated BSBIOS due to the importance it has obtained in biodiesel production in the country.

Among companies chosen in 2009 are: Foccos Sistemas de Gestão, Universal Leaf Tabacos, Fabisul, Favorit Aços Especiais, Contex and Unimed. The businessman Luiz Carlos Mandelli, ex-chairman of FIERGS, one of the chosen this year, whit regards to the honored, emphasized the importance of this entrepreneurial activity for the development of the state and subsequent well-being of the gaúchos. Directors Erasmo Carlos Battistella, Antonio Roso and Arlindo Paludo, with their respective wives, were present at the ceremony in order to stand for BSBIOS.
