New association of the sector of Biodiesel is founded

By aiming at representing and defending the interests of plants producers of biodiesel, a new strength in the sector of biodiesel arises. The name was confirmed and the direction of the new entity was elected. The association, which already represents 3.48 billion liters in productive capacity, received the name Aprobio - Association of Biodiesel Producers of Brazil.

Aprobio, founded on 17 of June, already counts on 24 companies associated, which own 30 plants of biodiesel and represent 56% of the production capacity of Brazil. The new association will be comprised mainly of companies with units that produce biodiesel and which admission criterion the authorization of operation provided by ANP.

Erasmo Carlos Battistella, the Chief Executive Officer of BSBIOS, was elected by the associates of Aprobio, who is the new chairman of the entity. He stated that, "the numbers show that since its foundation, Aprobio is representative and guided by companies that visualize the need for changing and improvement in the sector."

As vice-president, Adilton Domingos Sachetti of Cooperbio was elected, as well as the following counselors: Marco Antônio Moura de Casto, da Brasil Ecodiesel, Alberto Borges de Souza of Caramuru, Geraldo Martins of Fertibom, Rodrigo Guerra of Bio Óleo and Alexandre Pereira of JBS. The management lasts two years.

Besides the positions already elected, Aprobio is hiring a chairman that shall be the responsible for the management of the entity. "We want a professionalized management, for this purpose we will have a chairman without any bond with the associates", explained Battistella. It will be this person the responsible for monitoring the team that will work in the association.

It is in Aprobio's plans to accomplish an event of broadcasting where the entity will be formally introduced and the associates elected will assume. This event may happen in the beginning of August. The Association's headquarter will be in the city of São Paulo.
