Event that marks the beginning of the harvest happens next Tuesday
The 3rd edition of the National Opening of Canola Crop and Field Day of Canola will happen on October 4th, on Tuesday, from 12:30am, in the district of Vista Alegre, in Colorado (RS). The objective of the events is to broadcast the new technologies towards canola crop with theoretical and practical activities, as well as cut handling and windrowing and collection of Canola. Yet, it is intended to make producers, leaderships and authorities aware of the importance of the rural diversification process as alternative of work and income generation in the property in the winter period.
To the Chairman of AbrasCanola and BSBIOS, Erasmo Carlos Battistella, the opening of Canola harvest is an important mark for the crop. "We celebrate and broadcast Canola crop as a feasible activity to the rural farmer. We realized that, year by year, new medium or large-sized family producers have integrated to the planting system. We want to enlarge this area planted even more by aiming at quality", observed Battistella.
Through visiting stations, a technological approach of the crop will be achieved, treating from sowing, fertilization, handling, new technologies of harvest and commercialization, as well as characteristics of physiology, development and technical assistance. Also, there will be dynamics of cut and windrowing and collection.
The area grown with Canola has been improved yearly in all main producer states of Brazil. In this crop there was an increase of 41% in relation with last crop, that is, from 41.976 ha grown in 2010 to 59.100 ha grown in 2011. In Rio Grande do Sul, the area sowed increased 29%, changing from 25.960 ha to 33.500 ha. In Paraná, there was a more expressive increase, reaching 79%, changing from 12.840 ha to 23.000 ha, where only BSBIOS improved planting of 25mil ha in these states.
The events are a promotion of ABrasCanola, BSBIOS, Cotrijal, Embrapa-Trigo, Emater/RS, PRODUFORT, Rural Workers Union of Colorado and Rural Union of Colorado, with the support of the City Hall of Colorado, Representative Chamber of Colorado, University of Passo Fundo (UPF), Group DRS and Associação Comercial e Industrial de Colorado (ACICOL). And, it counts on the sponsorship of BSBIOS, Lavoro Concessionária John Deere, Banrisul, Cotrijal, Mosaic, Coprel, Produfort, Banco do Brasil and Sicredi.
