Opening of Canola harvest happens tomorrow


Event marks commence of the harvest



 



On Tuesday (18), from 12:30 am, the National Opening of Canola Crop 2012 will happen in the town of Colorado, together with the fourth edition of the "dia de campo da cultura". The national event aims at broadcasting new technologies with respect to crop growth.

In the activity, where there will be technical stands, it will be possible to know technological news, growth techniques, handling, fertilization, management of property and commercialization, as well as physiology characteristics, development and technical assistance. Yet, dynamics with cut and windrowing and collecting platforms will be performed.

The coordinator of the Improvement Department of BSBIOS and management vice-president of the Brazilian Association of Canola Producers (ABRASCANOLA) Agronomist Fábio Júnior Benin highlights that canola crops are in their final stage of development and grain filling. Crop handlings are beginning and the expectations for productivity are good. "We are in a path of constant evolution, where handling improvements, the search for new hybrids and new technologies with rural pesticides were the most important work proposals in the crop of 2012 and this influences the increase on crop productivity," he emphasized.

This year, the event will happen during the Semana Farroupilha, then, cultural activities like the performance of singer nativista Luiz Carlos Borges will also happen as well as the artistic invernada of CTG Severo Sampaio de Quadros. The activity will be held on the on roadside BR 285, at Km 360, in the town of Colorado (RS). Entrance is free.

The events are promoted by ABRASCANOLA, BSBIOS, Cotrijal, Embrapa-Trigo, Emater/RS, PRODUFORT, Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais de Colorado and Sindicato Rural de Colorado, with the support of Passo Fundo University (UPF) and Grupo DRS. E, it counts on the sponsorship of BSBIOS, Lavoro Concessionário John Deere, Banrisul, Banco do Brasil, Sicredi, Syngenta, Mosaic and Cotrijal.
