Opening of the National Canola Crop will happen on the second week of September

On September 21st, from 12:30 am, at Agropecuária Ireneu Antônio Vian in Colorado, the Opening of the "Safra Nacional da Canola 2010" and "Dia de Campo da Cultura da Canola" will happen. People will have the opportunity to know the news on the crop, growth and handling of the harvest. Yet, the dynamics with the cut platform and windrowing and technical stands will be shown.

The coordinator of Development Sector Agronomist, Fábio Benin, emphasizes that the activity is very important. "This will be the second year the event is being promoted, it is a very important mark for us, thus it helps to demystify the winter crop, which has guaranteed commercialization and it is a great alternative as crop rotation", he stated.

In 2010, Canola crop, developed by BSBIOS, reached the 15.000 ha distributed in the North and Northwest region of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná. The opening of the Safra Nacional da Canola is an accomplishment of BSBIOS, Produfort, Cotrijal, Embrapa-Trigo, Sindicato Rural de Colorado and Emater, with the support of Banco do Brasil, Grupo DRS Biocombustíveis, Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais de Colorado, ACICOL, UPF, Prefeitura de Colorado and Banrisul and it is sponsored by Sicredi, John Deere concessionária Castelmaq and Kuhn.
